Misc. 1981 CJ build question

I have been offered a 1981 CJ with 70,000 miles on the odometer. The engine has been changed from the 2.5 to the 4.2-6cyl. My question is if it came with the 2.5 engine, Will it automatically have been built with less capable running gear? ie, transfer case, axles? It has an automatic trans.

The entire drivetrain would be the same for all CJs in 81 except for the trans and engine options. A different gear ratio and Limited slip option could have been ordered also.
The diffs, brakes and transfer case is the same for all models.
The 4cyl 151 came with a tf904 auto and the 258 with a tf999
