Anyone have a suggestion on a good quality snap ring plylars that open wide for transmission work on bearing retainers?:D

Spend the money and get quality the first time. Even the expensive ones can be tricky to use. Snap On & Matco is where I'd look. The good ones I've used were Snap On and they could be a struggle at times. Why? Some snap rings, the ones without the little holes, can have a very small surface to get ahold of to expand the ring over a shaft combined with some sharp angles making for a tricky job.

Ditto on snap-on or the like. I got mine at a high end tool store local to me
