- Retired: 67 CJ5, Odd-Fire V-6.
I was trolling Craigslist (like I usually do) and I came across a 1967 CJ5 with a factory Dauntless V-6. The jeep was pretty stock but it had been sitting in a barn at nearby Apple Orchard for a really long time so it doesn't run. The original owned passed away so his son parked it in a field about 4 months ago until he decided to sell it.
The Good:
Numbers matching Jeep (From what I can tell)
Almost rust free (Superficial here and there, but thats it)
Tub is perfect, no rust, no dents, no bondo.
1 Family owned Jeep, lived in California since new.
The Bad:
Frame horn on the drivers side is bent about 1.25-1.75 inches.
Looks like the wiring was subject to rodents (Still accessing the damage there)
The engine doesn't run, it turns freely when cranking, but does run.
Seller was asking $2,000, but I got it for $1,000 cash
This is my first Jeep so I have no idea what I'm doing. This Jeep kind of intimidates me, as I am no mechanic. I can do routine maintenance, but thats about it. So I could use any help I can get, lol.
BTW, that Tahoe in the second picture is my daily driver and my pride and joy. I've always been a GM fan and this is my first Jeep.
