I thought I would revive this thread because I just moved and got a new garage.
When I was looking for a new home I was most concerned about the garage. I wanted a good automotive workshop but I didn't need a very big house at all. I saw this place and it has 2 two car garages.
My CJ is lifted and has oversized tires so it was crucial that I can fit my CJ into the garage (I was NOT going to work on my CJ in the driveway anymore) I called the realtor and asked if the garage doors were more than 82 inches high. He didn't know but started in about the features of the house. I interrupted him and said I wasn't concerned about the house. If you don't know how big the garage doors are I will come and measure them.
The detached garage was a perfect shop. It has lots of power - 110 and 220. I even painted the inside of the garage before it was legally mine. My co-workers gave me a hard time about that but I knew I would be mine eventually.
Ok, so now that the garage is mine I needed to stock it.
Here's the bench I built (sorry my CJ is hogging the picture):
Then I bought a the biggest tool chest Sears had:
For fathers day my son bought me lots of tools and accessories like the retractable air hose so I bought this 60 gallon air compressor:
Then I found this drill press on CraigsList (you can also see the new creeper I bought):
Yes, I have been spending a lot of money on my garage.
My new home doesn't have any chairs or furniture in my family room but hey, I've got my priorities. How can I buy a couch when I don't even have an air compressor in my garage?
In all honesty I really do like my family room. It's got a fireplace and a built in book shelf. It really would be a cool room if it had any furniture.
EDIT: yes, I am divorced and I know that is all too obvious from the post above.
