axle
An axle or axletree is a central shaft for a rotating wheel or gear. On wheeled vehicles, the axle may be fixed to the wheels, rotating with them, or fixed to the vehicle, with the wheels rotating around the axle. In the former case, bearings or bushings are provided at the mounting points where the axle is supported. In the latter case, a bearing or bushing sits inside a central hole in the wheel to allow the wheel or gear to rotate around the axle. Sometimes, especially on bicycles, the latter type of axle is referred to as a spindle.
Trying to confirm what kind of axles I have. I inherited this '54 CJ3b from my late grandfather, and its kinda a parts bin (non-stock alternator, ignition setup, and fuel system found so far), so I dont want to blindly trust the factory specs.

Long story short my new axle shafts arrive today but didn't include the seals or dust covers or what ever they were called from the factory. Here are a few pics of the original (or whatever is left) and the new shaft.
Id appreciate a link or at least what the proper name is so I can locate a set.
Is there a way to tell the axle ratio for a 1983 cj7? I am looking to purchase one and the owner doesn't know and doesn't have access to the axle stamp. It has a 258 and t5 trans and I think it most likely is all original. thanks
