Hi guys. I'm getting ready to add a 1" shackle lift using the 1 piece "H" design (like Warrior) shackles. I don't do any serious wheeling, but had a couple of questions:

Will a 1" lift negatively affect my steering/driving?

Do I need greasable bolts if I'm keeping my rubber bushings or will regular bolts (like stock) work?

Thanks!

A question to consider. Is an actual 1/2" lift really worth the effort for you?

Some say that a grease able bolt is weaker that a solid one. I was advised not to use them.

I did this on the front only to level my CJ out and have zero regrets. Just use rubber bushings and regular bolts, just don't overtighten them.

I used a 2" longer shackle for a net 1" lift up there and it's perfect.

1/2 inch of lift will really not effect the steering angle much. our machines are neanderthal in design in that area anyway so they have a bit of leeway. UNLESS you want to do high speeds

I do use shackle lifts on my 67 CJ5 but only on the rear, I wanted flatter springs and less flex back there. I have 2 inch lift springs and 2 inchs of lift in shackles back there to match the 4 inch lift on my front end. No I did not want to mess with steering angles and wanted full flex up front.

ans remember what has been stated, 1 inch of shackle is not going get you 1 inch of lift.

Thanks all. Sorry for the late thank you but I'm having problems logging in.
