1951 Willy CJ3A Wandering all over the road

I have a 1951 CJ3a and it seems to be wandering all over the road.

**Disclaimer- The Jeep is not mine, it is a buddies who will be out of town for a while and has asked me to help with it while he is gone**

My buddy says that the alignment is good. he mentioned it needing a drag link but I know nothing about those so maybe one of you guys can help point me to where I should look to check the draglink. Thanks.

I dont know much about Jeeps. But I believe this jeep has a 6 Inch. I know it has 35" BFG on it.

Well I do have some experience with that.
I have a 3b that was undriveable on the highway but have since done a thorough rebuild on, it all starts/ends in the knuckles with a pair of small king pin bearings(mine where rubble) with a worn Ross steering gear box conected to a drag link with worn ball cups that drives a bellcrank with worn pin that connects to tie rods with in my case rusted frozen ball ends from never being lubed because they forgot to install the zurk fittings. Many parts and peices involved in those early Jeeps that have a Limited life span that may have been exceded years ago.
Oh and did I mention unbalaced tires?

Did you say 35" tires? 6" lift?

The drag link runs from the gear box at the end of the steering shaft to the bellcrank under the radiator.

Thanks for the reply. I will start looking inot all that this week. Like your previous situation, I cannot drive it on the highway. Over 45 and it is almost to much to handle. I believe it has a 6" lift. I know it has 35's. I am not exactly sure the stock ground clearance on these things so I dont know for sure if it has a 6" lift. I know it is tough to get into though

Something I failed to bring up with regard to the excessive lift is it's effect on caster. It's pretty much a given that the front axle was rotated forward with the longer shackles that I am guessing it must have, look at the front differential yoke to see if it is near level or does it point up toward the T case?
I am assuming much here without any idea of what your lift looks like.
