another project!!! 1956 Dj-3a with 4 wheel drive conversion, with the 3 speed on the column, very good shape, its a nice little Dj, everything is there, theres a hurricane in it, but i picked up a flat-head with it. ill post pics sometime lol. the last time it was on the road was '63, still has the original 60/40 seat. if i can remember from seeing it yesterday, i will correct myself later, i think it has 20,000 miles on it, i was thinking 2 inch lift, with ether, 31s or 29 super swamper TSLs with black top and black accents, and advertising my excavation co. on it. i think it willl be pretty sweet, adn i will get very indef. with pictures!

well. i paid for and got the title transferred for the Dj, so there will be a welcoming home party tomorrow! well i will get pictures on here ASAP. when my cellphone decides to co-operate!

Looks like you tucked it away a little too good before grabbing pics. :bang: :D. I was expecting more of a Postal grill but I guess that change came along after '59.

It does sound like an interesting little project that will catch some eyes and advertise well.

the DJ was delivered today! dropped it right off in the driveway! 001.jpg

Jeeps have run in my family's blood, forever, my dad and i are starting a collection from the early cjs, to the tjs, no yjs though. the first three are a 48' bantam trailer, 77 CJ7 Golden Eagle , and the 1956 Dj3a. and our future endeavors will tell what we get later, ever since i rebuilt the CJ7 with my dad i want to open a Custom Jeep shop. you pick the Jeep and the accessories and i build it. my dream, hopefully to come true. Jeeps are history, and we need to preserve them, one Jeep at a time.:D

tried to get the Hurricane 4cyl running today, no luck turns over good and im getting gas to the carb, my guess weak spark. no problem, cleaning plugs tomorrow, and seeing if she'll fire.

Thats pretty cool. And look how wide that window is!

nice find I have a 54 CJ3b
look forward to seeing your progress:chug:

well i didnt have time to mess with the hurricane in the dj, by monday this week, my father and I are confident we can get the little dj running and driving by then. i checked the plugs the other day, they were very clean, i think the wires need swapped. its ether not getting enough spark to the plugs or none, the points are clean, the cap is good and the distributor is fine, also the coil is producing spark, but it seems to die once it gets to the plugs. so if we can get it running well enough to move it, we will be more than happy. this is the first ever pre 68 Jeep my dad, and definitely I, have messed with. its going to be an experience. a very fun experience to say the least. but i am excited for the hardships, and the feeling of accomplishment after its done.

my dad and i got the hurricane running today, we got a new 6v coil and wires from napa today and that old girl runs! idles like a dream and revs like a dream. sometime this week we will be putting brake fluid in the master cylinder, to see if we have brakes or not, i just cant believe how healthy it sounds!

That is great news !! keep us posted on your progress. I have just started on redoing the brakes on my new 66 CJ5 and so far it is going well. :)

well this isnt an update on the dj project however, the woman selling all the jeep parts will be out here in Avella Pa the week of OCT. 31st, shes probably going to spend time here untill Nov. 5th, email or PM i have inventory:cool:
