1965 CJ5 Tuxedo Park
Hi folks, new guy here. Just picked up this 1965 CJ5A Tuxedo Park Park this past weekend. Barn find deep in the sticks. Bought from original owner's son-in-law. I also received a lot of good documentation for verification of the back-story of the vehicle. Jeep was purchased new as a farm utility vehicle on 12/31/64. It was still on the same farm when I purchased it. In its later years, it was a Sunday cruiser, in the past 10 years it was only driven once or twice a season just to exercise it. It has 24,429 original miles and runs great. It's totally stock and only seems to be missing hubcaps, I think? There is a little rust on the tailgate and some minor rust on the frame. I was curious what you think the value is? I'm not planning to flip it, plan to keep it forever. I'm going to clean it up and overhaul it for starters. From there, down the line I want to do a full ground up restoration and make it mint. Thanks for your feedback.

As well, anything you can tell me about his Jeep would be helpful.

I don't know the value, but I am so jealous. I can't seem to make barn finds like that around here. all the good 5's get hacked into crawlers.

:ww:from Missouri. That is a great find, as far a value you know what they say its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I looked at one a few weeks ago that is in good shape, not as nice as yours and the owner wanted $1,500

In hindsight, I guess my question was probably a silly one. I don't really care what the value is. I plan to take great care of this thing and over time I will make it mint, as money allows. For now, the engine sounds great, it has all original parts, and body rust is minimal and fixable. I'm in up in NY, so I can't wait for the weather to break so I can give her a nice wax and polish and start logging a few WD40 miles!

This forum has some great information, it will be a great resource for years to come! Thanks-

BTW- great barn finds are still out there. I'm proof of that. Keep trolling craig's list. the listing for my jeep was something like this: "Jeep CJ, this aint junk, call me" - but there was no phone number!! fortunately I was persistent and emailed with my name/number a few times over a few days and finally the guy called me back. He turned out to be a really cool older dude that just wanted to free up room so he could keep bringing in vintage tractors. :chug:
