Build Thread 1976 Jeep CJ5 budget build thread.

Ok I'm going to make this my build thread to show my work and to also keep track of pictures and what has been done, what needs to be done and so on.
First, some pics of my 1976 CJ5 . It has either 93k or 193k (more likely the latter). Not in terrible shape, but not a peach either. PO has done more damage than 35 years has.
Here it is cleaned up as good as I can get it.
This Jeep will be mainly used for some light highway work (20 or so miles) and some hunting and offroading. There is some rust on the body, but only surface rust on the frame and underside of the body. The AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is in decent shape but missing some vac lines, the tranny and Transfer Case seem to be in good shape as well.
I'll be leaving some things to do in the future, and repairing the required things now. The diamond plate panels will stay for now, and some more stuff that I can do in the future. For now, clutch, new steering column, some paint and rear brakes are what will be done.
So for my first steps I started by taking the body off the frame. Started at around 9:30 this morning, took until 3:00pm to remove the fenders, stuff from the firewall, disassemble the dash and attempt to remove the bolts.
Got down to removing the bolts and found they were spinning in the cages. So thats left for now and day 1 tear down is done. More to come over the next week. Hope to have the body off tomorrow and start working on the brakes and clutch.
