I am assembling my steel doors following a complete repair/paint job, but realizing that I might be missing some parts!

The doors were purchased from the local offroad shop and were basket cases...I took them apart over a year ago and I honestly can't remember if the part I am trying to locate was even on the doors to begin with.

Trying to determine what type of bracket/block/spacer I need to attach the bottom of the Window Division Channel to the door. See page 2 of this link for reference. http://oljeep.com/gw/76_tsm/Section15.pdf

I have nothing right now, and I'm okay with fabricating something...I would just like to know what is required.

Either a photo or dimensions (or both) would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, these are lever-style doors with fixed wing windows.

Allot of time and bs could be saved if you bought a pair of junk doors, which would show you how they assemble and have all your nick nack hardware and peices, just a thought,,...

Thanks for the suggestion, but all other hardware is new...have a Totally Stainless kit for the body which includes all of the door hardware.

The only piece of the puzzle that I am missing is these brackets (or whatever they are).
Even if someone can just give me a dimension on how thick the spacer should be between the door skin and the Division Channel then I should be able to "engineer" something.

An image would certainly help, but the more I think about it I'll also want to know the thickness of the spacer/bracket...

Mainly because there is a bit of slop in that channel, which could affect how smooth the window will operate up/down.

I don't have access to any doors at the moment, we just got buried in snow, and Ive got jeeps and parts stashed in 9 different buildings, but here are some images, if you want the part numbers from the group number in the images let me know, and I can get them for you, in the event you decide to track them down in lieu of making them.

Thanks!

Looks Like I need part# 23.125-1b!

I would swear that I've seen something that looks like it...maybe I need to sift through my "miscellaneous parts" bin again.

23.125b is a "group" number, the part number is 5457300. It appears for 1976 only,... which I find kinda bizarre..

Its called a "Division Bar, to Inner Door".

That does seem odd, because I'm thinking that they made the lever-style doors for longer than just the 1976 model year. Then again, I have been known to be wrong from time to time!

It would seem strange to change something like that after only one model year of the CJ7 though.

SUCCESS! Well... Partial success... I found ONE of the brackets!

It is just as shown in your diagram, and it is 3-3/8" x 1-1/2" x 3/4".

It's basically a bent (maybe stamped) piece of sheet metal with welded nuts on the outer holes. The welded nuts would be on the side of the bracket that faces the exterior of the door, so they don't show up on your diagram.

I am reasonably certain that I only had one of these brackets to begin with...so I guess Ill just use this piece as a template and fab something similar.

Thanks again for your help!!!
