1978 CJ7 Total Rust Bucket Basket Case, fixin to be a frame up resto,,
Wow  where do I start, were embarking on a frame up resto. We bought this mud Bucket for $500.00. I had two drive the thing to the house, and the ride was more exciting that the batman ride at Six Flags. When I fired it up it was as loud as my old dirt track car, know I saw some kind of muffler somewhere on the thing. I'm glad my wife followed me in our pickup because sh had to stop twice to pick up parts, after about a mile one of the shifters broke and fell out and went bouncing down the road, followed shortly by a five lug hub, we haven't figured out where the hub came from since the CJ still had all 4 wheel's on it ? The first thirty feet of the ride told me I was going to be white knuckled for the whole ride home, the first turn I thought it was going over, one little touch and I went into the turn and then it was hand over hand to reel her back in and we were off the other direction, HOLY @#&!,,. I decided to go a little slower after that turn,, thank God only three more turn's to go. Around the second turn and near miss through my neighbors pasture a co-ax cable for a former CB that I didn't see hanging by the passenger front tire got ripped loose and took pretty much most of the engine compartment wiring out with it. After a short but needed break to let my heart rate go down, i rigged the distributor hot up and got her fired back up. Only 2 more turns, finally my driveway was in sight and I hit the pedal that is supposed to control the brakes, and lo and behold I found out I was on the free wheel from hell, my road is a dead end, I started jamming gears to slow her down and found out she doesn't care for that very much at all. the last turn was made at about 15mph and I turned the steering wheel more times on that turn than I have on my pickup in two years.. I got her stopped short of the shop, and decided since I have such a nice shop building that I would just push her in and get her on blocks.. Here She Is, my new beautiful noisy green red blue and black, former swamp runnin muddin girl...

I moved from Texarkana last year. I bought my jeep in the town west o Texarkana about 15 miles from an old farmer. My driveshaft fell out on the way home. I used to work at the oriellys there on stateline.

LOL, I prolly know you by sight, I have spent many dollars in that Orielly's, and visited there yesterday for a starter for my new bucket..

Edited in a pic from your other thread. Welcome to the site and let the fun begin. :)
