1979 CJ7 304v8 mystery issue

This runs for a while and will begin to lose power and stall. After a few minutes it will start up again and may run well for the rest of the night. This does this frequently and more so when in 4th gear. Any ideas of where to start as this is really getting frustrating to try to figure out.

 

[Torxhead]

It sounds like a possible ignition control module going bad. It is located behind the coolant reservoir. Sometimes when they go bad it will be after it warms up and it will get hot to the touch. Other times it will just stall an engine.

 

[Bent]

Float level set too low caused a similar issue on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l /MC2100 setup.

 

[Lumpy Grits]

Fuel supply issue-
Ck float setting and filter.
Make sure your metal lines are NOT pinched somewhere.
Does it stall when you remove the gas cap?
