I have an '80 CJ7 with an air pump. i am removing the air pump and need to plug the holes in the exhaust manifold. I have found these on a FSJ retailer

https://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/exhaust-manifold-7-pc-plug-set-gw-1974-1991/

will these work? theoretically, i just need the correct thread pitch..

right now the jeep has major exhaust leak(s) (obviously) because i pulled the air pump belt off and removed the hose going to the air intake.

side note, I will be installing a weber 38 and a DUI HEI distributor on the engine.. not sure if that matters..

thanks for your help.

Yes they will fit.

With tightening regulations it is difficult to advise anybody to remove emissions equipment. Especially something as obvious as the air pump and it's associated parts and pieces.

yep.. but, i live in TX in a county that doesnt do any emission testing.. and the jeep is (i think) now exempt

You had better check, before going any further........

Running an air pump is not really a bad thing as it helps keep your combustion chambers cooler. Especially with the low leaded gas.

Thought about removing my emissions equip also. I have decided not to. If I ever sell it, at least it should be legal in other areas. Also, because my area doesn't check emissions now doesn't mean it never will. So I am going to replace the pump, need to get new check valves though. Should help with combustion temps as well.

A simple stroke of a pen can change smog laws. Whatever you do, don't trash that stuff if you remove it.
