Hello all, I just bought a 1981 CJ5 last week. It has bit over 100,000 miles on it with the 6 cylinder, 4 speed in it. It has no rust, it's original and it was a tow vehicle behind a motorhome. Man are theses fellas tough to get in and out of
I'm thinking about going thru it to make sure everything is safe and OK. I want to put a bigger tire on it (taller not wider) but not sure how big I can go without rubbing? Any thoughts? Maybe a 2 1/2 lift with new springs and shocks front and rear ? Any input or thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks y'all

So you need to keep this in mind. The taller you make it is just going to make it that much harder to get in and out of. I have ran 31/10.50 on one with no lift and it did fine off road.

I run 31s on the street and 33s off road but the 31 work just fine off road. Make sure you have a minimum offset wheel and the 31s will fit the stock springs.:D
