1985 CJ7 running issues

Hello! We have a 1985 CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6 with a Weber 2 barrel carb. It had been running very well, but then all of the sudden began stalling as I was coming to a stop at red lights, stop signs, etc. I parked it for a day and a half, and now it will turn over, idle very roughly for a few seconds, then die unless you give it gas. Once you let off the gas pedal, it dies. I've readjusted the carb idle mixture and it made no difference, and verified that the carb is getting gas, checked all the vacuum lines for leaks. It has newer fuel lines and filters as of a year and a half ago. Any ideas? Thanks!

My guess is the Weber I have never liked them and would never put one on one of my Jeeps.

I would suggest looking at the spark plugs to check the air/fuel mixture. With the Weber you should have a fuel regulator set to around 3.5 psi.

How many miles are on the engine ? I happen to like my Weber pretty well btb
