Hey guys,

My 85 Laredo is all stock but does have a small rake to it. I would like to lift only the front up about 1". What would be the easiest way to accomplish this without doing any major modifications? Thanks

If you have access to a shop press you can add arc to your springs easily and attain an inch of lift.

If you don't have access to a press to add arc to the springs (best approach), then you could add longer shackles to the front. Remember, you'll need to add twice the length as the amount of lift you are seeking (i.e. 2" longer shackles to get 1" of overall lift). On the other hand, curious why there's a rake if all is stock. Are the front springs worn and a new set of stock replacements might solve the problem?

Often replacing the springs themselves will give you a net gain of an inch as well depending how old your current springs are now.

So I’ve decided the best route is to go with new front springs. I want springs that will give me about 1-2 inches of a lift. What do you all suggest that I go with? Thanks

If the ones you will be replacing are true OEM, will you let me have them…

OME would be my recomendation , it will give you 2 1/2" of lift.

OEM is original manufacturing equipment , meaning it came from the factory like that. OME is a brand Old Man Emu. If you get them at 2 1/2 inches you will need all 4 springs to match.

I know all of that I've been restoring old muscle cars for 40 years. I'm just new to jeeps. I only want to lift the front up 1-2 inches. That's what I'm looking for. Not to replace all 4 springs. Thanks

Then you just need new stock replacement front springs. Replacement springs will give you the 1-1 1/2 in youve lost over the last 40 years if they are indeed original.

The only reason the 2 1/2 in OME springs were brought up is they give you that much hieght over a good stock spring. OME only sells lift springs at that hieght.

I made my suggestion based on your post right here.
