I have the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a 2 core radiator now and wanting to know if it will be sufficient for the AMC 304 setup. I understand that some came with 2 core and some used 3 core. Any truth to this?

you can never have too much radiator!!

Reason I ask is that I have an almost new 2 core in it now with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and really don't have the $$ for a 3 core if the 2 core was stock. I bought a brand new 3 core from a wagoneer for $25 and it is the same size width wise but different angle brackets on it. I am wondering if I took both of them to the rad shop he could swap brackets and I would have the 3 core.

I plan on starting the engine and running on stand before swapping out.

the core is the same on both but I think you will have to pull the top and bottom bucket and swap the cores to get where you want to be.

the bottom neck is just slightly different and may interfere with the steering on the waggy radiator.
