Got my first jeep a couple weeks ago - no motor in it. I wanted to go back with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l (what the previous owner had in it) so I found one running that come out of a J10. Went to drop the motor in and the mounts would not line up, they were too high and too far forward on the motor (by about 3 or 4 inches.) Did a little research and found that the motor mount brackets that bolt to the block are not right. I need to find a set of bracekts (not the frame brackets - the ones that mount to the motor) but I can't find them anywhere. I have attached a couple pictures, one of the right side bracket still on the motor and one of both brackets removed. Anybody have any ideas?

let me look around the shop, I may have a set of them around.

Thanks! I can't understand why they are so hard to come by. I am haveing the same problem with the alternator mounting bracket.
I can find the frame mount brackets everywhere.

most people throw them away after swapping to a V-8.
Where does your alternator mount, and is your engine a V-belt or serpentine?

I6 is better fit for me right now.
Alternator mounts on right side (passenger side), engine is V belt.

Unfortunately I just gave mine away with the motor I sold. If Mylittlecj5 cant help with the alternator though just pm me.
