3.9 cummins

Has anybody done or seen a 3.9 cummins in a cj we have a 59 CJ5 at work with no driveline and this is one option we have been kicking around any input or reasons why this is a bad idea?

dont quote me but im pretty sure its too long to put in a 5 especially a early 5. i thought about doin it but just too short

so any ideas on a small diesel that may fit ? any ideas will be great

When i asked my dad about it since he is the diesel mechanic of our family he said that the only one that he new of was from the newer jeep liberty(05 06). Its the 2.8l turbo diesel if I remember right it had good specs. 160hp 295flbs of torque plenty of power for a cj! there just heavy tho and i couldnt entertain the thought of droppin the AMC 304 for a 4cyl maybe if i get a newer jeep it would be a cool conversion!

yeah i think it would be. i saw a bunch of stuff on google if you type in diesel wrangler. most were newer ones tho that people converted i am thinkin about doin it when i get my next jeep! actually if jeep offered a 2011 rubicon with a diesel in it i would probably trade my truck for it!
