1952 willys pickup, engine- 200ci strait 6 ford, tranny- 3 speed t-90, not sure on the transfer case or diffs.
bought a 1980 CJ5 , has a AMC 304 and a 4 speed, owner said it was a SR4 tranny, i know they did not come from the factory in this combo, but looking up the vin the jeep was a 4 cyl., the tranny has a H shift pattern with reverse being over to the top left " next to first gear" you have to push the shifter down to be able to shift into reverse, just trying to ID my tranny any info would be great! thanks! Justin

And if it is a Sr 4 or T-4 you have now found the weakest link in your drivetrain. :(

thanks pete, im unsure of the shifter shape, someone welded up this mess they called a shifter onto a stub of what was left of the original, i was thinking of doing a ford T-18 swap when i do my tub swap in a few months regardless just wanted to figure out whats in him now

Ok well hopefully you can figure it out from the other pics in that thread. If not post up some pics of yours and Im sure we can help you identify it.

Its easy to say your Cj should have "such and such a Transmission " and blah blah blah but you never know whats been swapped in and out by previous owners. Best way is pics so we can positively identify it. ;)

yeah i hear ya, i'll take some pics of it tomorrow!
