And discovered my heater does not work. I went from having an overheating problem this summer, to a not heating up problem after I thought it was fixed. Not sure if I want to fix it or not as a plan to start my tear down here in mid winter, Jan time frame. It just sucks because I like driving my jeep to work and I pick up my daughter from daycare after. And the little babe just can't take the cold.

overheating in the summer, no heat when its cold....sounds like a plugged heater core. :( or best case, failed thermostat.

I'll take the first one. ;)

I still haven't drilled a hole in the thermo as it wasn't overheating anymore. I'm not even going to mess with the heater core until I tear her down.

Loosen the floor plate up a bit, you'll be warm then :D

Just change the heater core. I had my heater box out of my CJ in a half hour, and the core out in another 10 mins (being carefull not to break the little screws that hold the backing plate on the box). And had it all back together in another 45 mins. My jeep actually has decent heat now, which is a plus as I too pick my kids up from daycare in the mighty CJ. They love the Jeep, they call it daddy's monster jeep lol.
