I have a 76 CJ5 with a V 8, stock height. I currently run 31 X 10.5's without any clearance problems and even have room for chains in the winter.

I'd like to put a set of 32X9.5 Super Swampers TSL Bias tires but would like to retain the stock height. It appears if a larger tire were to rub it would be inside the fender well. If there was a problem it appears a little trimming inside the well and on the rear body would make more than enough room.

Am I missing something here and does anyone have any suggestions?
I don't want to drop the $$$ and have a larger project at hand.
Does anyone know of a current source for Super Swampers in this size?

Although I run bigger tires I have a similar story. I had 35x12.5-15 BFG Radial tires and replaced them with SuperSwamper SX 36x12.5-15 Bias Ply tires. I made careful measurements to make sure I could accommodate tires that were one inch taller (half inch bigger radius). But where I had problems was the width. Both tires were 12.5 inches wide BUT that measurement is only for the tread. My new SuperSwampers were Bias Ply and the BFG were radial. The Bias ply bulged out much more and now I need wheel spacers.
Here is my old BFG radials.

I have the SuperSwamper SX and you plan on getting the TSL so we are not talking about the exact same tires but I still think the width will be a bigger issue than the diameter. You should be fine going to 9.5 inch wide but don't always trust the numbers. They are deceiving when going from radial to bias ply.

I got mine from National Tire http://www.ntwonline.com/TSL_-_SUPE...serID=5109870&jsessionid=d8308a00664574494638
Unfortunately Interco isn't making 32x9.5 tires. They closed down a plant and it's taking for ever for them to move production to another plant. I waited over a year for my tires. Call National Tire (1-800-847-3287). They will give you an honest answer when your tire can be expected.

I run 32x10.5 Pro Comps on mine and the only issue is slight rubbing on the leaf spring pack- a minor adjustment of the steering stops took care of that with no real impact on turning radius. ( and that was before the spring swap, on stock leaves)

Sounds like you have lifted your Jeep?

Just finished a 2.5 lift YJ spring swap, but I was running these tires before the swap.
