Hi guys im in the process of swapping a 4.0 into my 77 CJ5 with T-18 ... My question is... Can I use the clutch that came out of the xj donor from the 4.0 and my T-18 throw out bearing bad so what can I replace it with before in put the 4.0 in

Most likely it will be different. Use a clutch for the 77 T-18 .

In that case would I just use the flywheel from the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ... not sure if the CPS sensor will read the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l flywheel

I wouldn't use the flywheel as the balance is probably different and the bolt pattern may be different. However the clutch disc and pressure plate could possibly be used for the T-18 .

Bolt pattern is the same, But you can use the flywheel and pressure plate from the 4.0 and a clutch plate for the T-18 .

I'm not sure if the T-18 will bolt up to the 4.0 bell housing. You may have to have the 4.0 bell housing redrilled or cut a hole in the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l bell housing for the sensor. I'm not sure what to recommend about the throw out bearing.

You can cut ( or have one cut) into your bell housing, or call Hesco to see about getting their setup which mounts on the front at the dampener

OP, try calling Novak too, they can almost certainly help
