Highly considering buying the 4" Rc lift. I can get the entire kit complete with springs, tcase drop, pitman arm, bushing, etc. all for about $400.

Ive heard mixed thoughts on these kits. I'm in college and built this jeep the last few years. So this kit is in my budget. Ive heard complaints of the ride, but to be honest i'm 20yrs old and could care less about the ride quality at this point I'm just trying to wheel and have fun. So does this kit work descent for off-road and road use?

Any thoughts wold be helpful!

Make sure you're getting extended brake lines and shocks to. If your not concerned about the ride quality any lift will work good for you. One I always suggest any one looking to install a lift on a CJ to look at is converting it to 2.5" springs up front. that will greatly help it with steering characteristics and off road manners. It will cost a few dollars more but is well worth it in the long road

i got the 4" RC lift w/33s...good kit for the money, not bad in the woods either...the only think i had to get was extended line but i think the 3piece kit was $90:D

Is this for the '85 or '86? The later 86' came with the Dana 44 rear, and the lift kit combos that you can buy are not equipped for the larger rear axle. This means you will have to purchase an extra four 9/16-20 u-bolts as the Dana 44 has a larger axle tube diameter than the AMC20 rear. Sometimes the lower price makes up for the extra price of the u-bolts that you don't need. The larger u-bolts can be tightened down to around 100 lbs. Also if you purchase u-bolt skid plates, they will be different than what normally comes on the later model CJs with the AMC20 rear.

This is for an 86' with the 44 rear. The kit says for 76-86'. But i understand what you mean witht he u-bolts. Im not to concerned about those i can get them at a discount price.
