im havin some trouble with my 4wd win its in and i turn sharp my front passenger tire seems to lock up but only in 4wd any ideas any one

Does it feel like its bouncing or catching and grabbing, only when locked in 4wd, hubs locked, and making a sharp turn? Does it do that when turning both ways or just one?

First thing I'd do is have someone knowledgeable watch the tire in question while you reproduce the problem. See if it is actually locking up or what.
Second thing I'd check is the right side U-joints in the front axle.

now that is funny my little CJ5 , you could not find anything to do but to miss quote a joke I made, man talk about looking like a 5 year old, you just did it.
I do not want you to change that, leave it there , I will laugh at you every time I see how immature you are.

now back to the question at hand, is this on a low or high shear surface, remember on a low shear surface you get driveline bind in turns.
which might be the only problem.

Simply put, is this happening on pavement, or a dirt/slick surface?

It might be normal than. They all feel kinda bouncy from the driveline getting bound up on a hard surface.
I would jack up the front end and turn it all the way to the right, than turn the tire by hand. You will be able to feel if the axle u-joint is binding. (bad)

if it happens on pavement then it is called driveline bind, it is the fact that you are forcing the wheels to cause the driveline to bind up because all 4 wheels are turning at a different speed in the turn, and without a center diff like an all wheel drive, they bind. It is a good way to break your junk.
4x4 works grate on high shear surfaces because wheels as the surface shears beneath them, mud, dirt etc and the system works as designed, on pavement however you have excellent grip, so when you have it in 4x4 you do not have the same results. I could get into a discussion here on how 2x4, 4x4, all wheel drive, and common mechanics of a vehicle work, but instead of a longgggggggggggggggggg post, I will just say: Don't go inot 4x4 on pavement, you can break stuff.

ok thanks im goin to jack it up and look any way but baja is prob right that was good advice baja thanks
no problem, if you would like I could go into a long explanation about torque, friction coefficients, differentials, surface structures and that kind of stuff. But I figure it would probably be an article for another day when I feel like it. It is easier to just say;;;; don't do that.
LOL
