I just replaced my wiring in my CJ7 .
I got a Centech harness. So far so good. But for the 4x4 indicatorlamp there is no description at all.
So my question: can I use the "+" from the fuel gauge and hook it to the "+" of the 4x4 indicator lamp? It is called "INST PWR"

Thanks a lot
Frank

Not if the wire is pink (OEM). Your reading of the fuel gauge comes from the positive (+) side and is in series with the gauge if this is the one you're referring to.

If it's the Red w/T, then yes, that is general (+) ignition switch power.

Does it not have a 4x4 indicator wire? You could easily hook one up yourself using the ignition switched power.

I thought the pink comes from the sensor from the fueltank.

But the gauge needs a "+" like the Oil pressure gauge. and I wanted to use this "+". it is called jumper wire. And is a "+" I can use . right

From the 4x4 switch there came only one orange wire to the instrument.

Thanks a lot

I don't see what year your CJ7 is anywhere. Mine is a '79, but I believe all years work the same. Wire color my be different. OEM is red positive or red/white line positive. Orange is a ground switch. This switch would be on the Transfer Case . So basically you have positive voltage to the light and the ground goes to the Transfer Case to the switch. Hope this helps some.

Peanut Butter is right - but we both have QT's...:D But like he said, the ground that goes to the switch on ours is isolated to bulb and once the TC is in 4WD, it completes the ground and the light comes on.
