Hey ya'll just wondering if anyone has any ideas on lifting my CJ7 6 inches I can't seem to find a 6" lift.
Thanks

For a SUA 6" lift you would need to get custom made leaf spring packs. Costly, but not going to ride or wheel well. High arch = little flex.

If you don't mind a Body lift you can just get any number of 4" SUA lifts and then a 2" body lift. Best bang for your buck.

If you want a full 6" just from suspension then you would have to look into a SOA (Spring Over Axle) swap. Moderate modifications for good off-road articulation.

Last but not least would be full coilover suspension. Significant modifications, but if done correctly greatly improves on-road and off-road performance.

I have a SOA on my CJ with a 1" body lift. It totals about 6.5" of lift. It utilizes custom Alcan springs made to stock YJ arch. Center pin holes were offset to increase wheel base forward and back. I have an 89" wheelbase now.

Doncj5, I was wondering how long you've been running that set-up and how you like it, it sounds interesting.

cj77windsor, sorry I didn't mean to hijack but Don pretty much covered it all.

There's a reason that you can't find 6" lifts for the CJ. Nobody what's the product liability. CJ flip.

4" with a body lift is probably the easiest way to go.'s SOA has it it's own problems. Not the cheapest way to go to do it right.

I have been running this SOA for a few years now. I really took my time researching this project before finally pulling the trigger.

I am very happy with the results. The handling on-road feels better (smoother, forgiving) than the previous 3" Black Diamond SUA lift I was running. I still do have the swaybar hooked up front though. I drove it disconnected once for about 1/8th of a mile. The body roll was frightening it is so soft.

Off-road I saw a significant improvement as once the swaybar is disco. it flexes like crazy. I have 14" Edelbrock shocks up front. The added wheelbase is also a big plus.

Thanks Don, good look'n cj ya got there.

the 4 inch with 2 inch body is a real good choice
the body clearance is a nice benifit when you gotta get under the jeep and do some work, there were several times over the years i was thinkin " if i just had a bit of room between the body and frame "

gives you a chance to put new body bushings too

I have spring over on the rear of my cj right now, it actually rides great leaving the front SUA, but i need to go with a revolver shackle or something in the front because there is NO droop compared to the back

I havent done the front SOA because i am trying to figure out which route to go with the steering

i love my SOA. jeep is a bit top heavy at speeds though because of the hight
