My 8 has been plagued with the Mopar MPI "ping" since it was installed. 91 octane is a must, but still too much pinging for me. I picked up an XJ for my wife awhile back, and while doing some research on an XJ site I kept seeing threads about 703 injector upgrade. At first I didn't pay attention to it since her's runs like a top, but I got to thinking if it would help the 8 since we share the same setup. After a little more research, I'd compiled the list of donor vehicles that these Bosch injectors came in, mostly Dodge Neons 95-97. Armed with a handfull of tools it was off to the local U-pull it yards only to discover this is a Very popular upgrade/injector. 3 yards and 50 plus cars later I had 0 injectors  After 3 months I finally managed to score the holy grail, so I ordered a new set of O-rings and filter baskets for them. Yesterday they got installed and it's a night and day difference how she runs. She idles as smooth as silk and the pinging is 99% gone, and all for less than $50!:banana::chug: It's a good day Tater ;)

Stock Jeep injectors are a single hole nozzle, and the 703's are 4 hole , better atomization. From what I've read, both injectors put out virtually the same amount of fuel so it's just the different spray pattern that makes the difference it seems. It will be interesting to see if my MPG's change for the better too, not that they were bad (17 mpg avg)
