Its a very rough old machine and is scary to drive but it gets better each time I work on it.
Hi all- I looked around on the web for camber specs. My old CJ5 is at .5 to 1 degree positive. The only thing I could find was on a Jeep tech site and they say 0 degrees so straight up and down... are you folks okay with that?

Usually you want 3 to 4 degrees positive Camber. Can you fill out you jeep specs?

He's asking about camber not caster, and that would be 0*

Looking from the front, wheels leaned in - camber, leaned out + camber I've seen at least 3 different measurements ranging from -.25 to 0 degrees. so I guess straight up would do. Question ... Have you checked your ball joints and wheel bearing adjustment? These pieces out of adjustment would represent as an out of camber situation. If they are good and your axle is bent its not over yet it can be straightened but it's a bit costly a cheaper alternative are camber shims from Ingalls eng. p/n 26126 application is for the Dana 30 and come in different degrees. They go between the spindle and outer c .

Most everything feels tight except the right wheel bearing is just a little loose.

O'Reilys has new wheel bearings for $6 each and I'm going to replace them all this weekend. The grease seals are actually more than the bearings go figure. Thanks all for the info.

My old Chilton manual lists wheel alignment specs for the '74-'80 CJ as:

Caster: +2.5* to +3.5* (+3* preferred)
Camber: +1* to +2* (+1.5* preferred)
Toe-in: 3/64" to 3/32"
King Pin Inclination Angle: 8.5*

Over the weekend I finished up the front spring replacement which included rotating the axle and re-welding the spring perches for a 5-6 degrees positive caster. It made a huge improvement and eliminated the death wobble. I trying to find some chamber shims for the bearing spindles so I didn't do the wheel bearings yet.

Thanks for the specs.
