I have started on the great journey of replacing my wiring harness today and would like to show some pics as well as get any advice possible from some one that has done this before. One of my main problems is the turn signal wiring. The steering column has 10 wires coming out of it to a connector (tilt column) Im trying to figure out what goes where but tracing wires through the old harness is impossible due to splices, tape, wire nuts, ect. everywhere from the PO. Ive tried going at it with a meter and seeing where i get current from but its not making sence to me cause nothing really changes between the pins when i flip the switch. Yes the turn signal switch "worked" before i pulled the rabbits nest out from behind the dash so i no the switch works. Any help would be perfect drawings would be greatly appreciated and this is a universal wiring harness. Thanks in advance!!:bang:

The tilt column can have a lot of "extra" wires compared to stock. Does it have the ignition in the column?

Stock only had the horn in the column. Turn signal wires ran on the outside of the column. Ignition was in the dash.

Most tilts have a GM style internal switch. They all over ride the brake light when the turn signal is turned on.

the ignition is on the column under the dash held on by 2 5/16 screws. (like most 80s gm trucks) There is a button on the end of the signal switch but that was ever used for anything that i no of

well i have "attempted" to wire it according to the schematic posted but i believe there has to be a diagram for the 7 prong plug which may be a little different because i still have no turn signals? i have to be missing one thing somewhere all lights have good grounds have power to fuse block idk what the heck is going on...

Need to see a pic of your steering column plug.
