75 cj5 wiring

i have put a new wiring harness in my CJ5 and am on the home stretch but can not figure out how the tail light wires hook up. i have three wires coming from each tail light but have no idea on which wires connect to what. Ive tried looking at the chiltens manual but the wireing diagram in that is really confusing. i believe the wires are red green and black. they are after market oem with just bare wires no conectors. Any help would be great!!

I've just checked them by applying brakes and seeing which has power then signals and and check for power and so on.

There is no ground wire as the unit grounds to the body.
The 3 wires would be running lites, brake-turn, and back-up.
just run a hot wire and see which bulb lights up.
