So, I picked up a 78 CJ5 a couple of months ago . The po said he had blocked and siliconed the cowl vent up as he couldn't get the vent to stop leaking. He also added a mojave heater under the dash. I wanted to get the fresh air flowing plus get some additional heat from the factory heater. I pulled the cowl vent and saw no duct work at all. The lower heater box and all is in place, I do see the hose running from the lower box to the defroster. Ive looked on the net at upper boxes and ducts but they all seem to have an elbow or hose that runs to the top of the air box on the right side of the jeep. My airbox on the right has no opening in the top of it at all for any kind of air connection.
There seems to be a large hole about midways in the firewall where the po ran the hoses for the mojave. Possibly the drain hole ? Also I see a plate below the airbox on the right which is oblong.(pic) the air box on the right does have a lever on it that opens a closes a flap in it but only reveals a sliver of the box behind. I loaded some pics showing what I'm up against, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
