Looking for some advice on the following for my 79 CJ build with 37 in irocs and a 6.5 suspension lift and 3 in body lift.

1. Steering is very sloppy, what is the best steering box upgrade? a new mount? a brace or an upgraded steering box? I purchased a dual steering stabilizer, but I am concerned about the size of the oem box and the new tires.

2. Brake upgrades? Need more stopping power....do they make oversized calipers for a CJ (cant find) is there a GM conversion that someone has used? or can I get away with slotted and drilled rotors up front with composite semi metallic pads?

3. Does anyone make a frame stiffener for the front of a CJ or is this a custom fab?

thank you

We really need some more info. Is it SOA or SUA?
How long are the shackles? Some pics would help us.

As for the brakes the only real up grade is a yj booster.

do you have power brakes now????? If not have you checked into it???? With that big of a tire it sounds like you will be changing out the diffs.

You need to start with the basics if you havent already....check/adjust slop in steering box. check slop in steering shaft, tie rod ends, drag link, spring bushings and replace worn out components first. Then look into upgrades...you have a big tire on your rig which is not helping :chug:
