Hey all,

Hoping that someone could help me out and might know where I could get the whole plastic heater plenum. (AKA:Large plastic piece that the heater is inside of)

I have the link to all the bits and pieces below which I can find everything except the the plastic listed to buy. Mine is old and beat up and I would like to replace however finding it a little difficult. I am not looking for used...old for old kinda beat my purpose. Thanks in advance.

Hate to tell you but that is almost always a scrap yard piece. I have never sen it listed as on the aftermarket... :(

I have never used or seen those - you best best (IMHO) is factory heater or adapt a Wrangler heater - Jeep heaters are very powrefull!

Of course this is coming from a CJer who has his original heater... :(

Even though you said you aren't looking for used....I visited J&W Auto Wreckers in Antelope, CA (near Sacramento) a couple of months ago. They specialize in all types of Jeeps, and although most of the CJs have been picked pretty clean, I'm guessing they might be worth contacting.

I also have a '79 CJ5 that I bought in July. The heater core was disconnected, so I'm assuming it leaks. Hopefully replacement isn't too difficult. I have priced replacements and saw that I can get one locally (Kragen/O'Reilly Auto Parts) for under $40 -- compared to the catalogs and ebay -- which charge twice as much.

Good info thank's! Let me know how well it heats! I had that on my list of things to buy, but recently it has been booted due to the many other item's i have to have to make my cj leave the garage!! ....WHICH STILL HASEN'T HAPPEND YET!
