79 CJ5 Lap belt to Shoulder Belt Questions

I was thinking about getting some 3 point seats belts for my Jeep. My roll bar has a zip up roll bar padding on it. I thought about welding in some inserts for the threads to hold the shoulder belt, but didn't know what to do about the cover. Does the seat belt mount need to go on the inside of the hoop of the roll bar or the outside? If it goes in the inside then it would be in the zipper area of the cover and I assume I would need to find another cover or something.

I'm looking at doing this to my '81 CJ7 , here's a couple shots of the factory mounting on the '82 up models. Hope this helps.

I think the 3 point belt would hold you guys in better if that sport bar mount was closer to a shoulder height, rather than as high up as it is.

yeah, that would work. Are the aftermarket 3pt belts any good like at Morris, or should I look for some out of a 82 or older Jeep? Thanks
