Hey everybody,
I am looking to do a full suspension install with a 2.5 inch lift, once a couple more feet of snow melt this spring.

Right now, I am inclined toward the BDS products (unless someone can make a better case for someone else), as I have heard pretty much nothing but good things about them, and they aren't obscenely priced. What I am debating is whether or not to do a YJ conversion, or whether to just to a regular CJ upgrade with 2.5 lift.

I think that the rough price difference is about $4-500 bucks. Now that isn't a crazy about of money, but I could certainly find better ways to spend it (4bbl carb, cam, headers to name a few). What I need to know is if the YJ conversion is really worth it, or if I would be pretty happy with the regular lift.

My Jeep won't be seeing a lot of hard off-roading, rock crawling etc, (maybe some sand and fire roads) so off-road performance is secondary to on-road manners.

I know this type of topic gets debated to death and people may be sick of it, (and I know people are generally partial to what they got) so i appreciate everyone's patience and help! Educate me please!:chug:

As you stated this has been and is discussed often, so do a search on here for more response's as not everyone will keep jumping on this band wagon. Anyways, I went with Old Man Emu when I did mine since my personal research couldn't find one single complaint about their product. There are lots of different ways to accomplish this conversion, everything from junk yard to buying complete kits ready to bolt on. I have very little free time , so buying a complete kit was the way I went. I chose Rocky Road Outfitters, I felt they had the most bang for the buck. Rocky Road has their critics if you do some internet searches, but I rolled the dice after picking the brain one of their reps. Other than longer than stated shipping time, I got everything I was promised and it all works very well. My 8 rides better now than it did stock.

Off topic but this in your profile is pretty funny hole. :) Husky & Border Collie co-pilots are stock.

Thank you Kane, I try for the smile-chuckle wherever I can. Life has enough serious moments ;)

As a side note BDS stands behind its products no questions. My dog stole my old jeep and drove it down a hill into a rolling gate at the scrap yard destroying the gate the 6" concrete filled steel post, breaking the windshield and bending the pass side spring when I called BDS to buy a new spring they sent a pair under warranty for free.

That's good to know there. Aren't too many companies like that anymore, crooked folks put them out of business!

This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

This is somewhat funnier and more relevant given the discussion about Hole's co-pilots!:)
