Well about an hour ago the Cj from Pittsburgh arrived. Ive been going over it some since then. So far Im pretty happy with my "online" purchase. She fired right up with the slightest blip of the key and idled nice and smooth throughout. The Suns position is messing with any pictures I take but I managed to fire this one off.

I'll get some more after we get back from our walk. Overall the body is pretty solid with the floors replaced nicely and some wavy rocker panel patches. First and foremost I have to put the Transmission in that came with it. The current one has no reverse. I'll go over all the likes and dislikes later on when I can get pics.

Looks good Pete! Glad it was delivered as promised!

This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

Me too! Finally get to start wrenching a bit on a Cj again. This one will take up my time and cash till its nice and solid. Then I'll move on to the Limited . :)

Im gonna have to go through the vin and see what I have here. Im not sure if thats the original hood or not but I believe it is.

Is it ever really a good thing when you buy a Cj and the Transmission is in the back seat? Ok sure there was one where it was supposed to be but it has no reverse. That could be a problem at some point.

After being around various Cjs for many years Ive learned to appreciate alot of smaller things I overlooked when I was younger. I wish the poor Cj was taken better care of earlier in its life. These Laredo seats are rare enough in black , but in honey? People pay a small fortune for a set of these in good condition. Mine are in poor condition as my Cj was used , well like a Jeep. ;)

Im going to try and keep the Cj simple like it was back in 1981. I like the idea that it has a tach and even the clock. The floors were redone pretty nicely and the shot seats will be replaced by the black Bestops that came in the Limited . The floor is a bit dirty and I'll work on getting better pics after its in the garage.

Besides the 4 in lift and 35 in tires there were a couple other mods I was glad the Cj had. If your going to run 35s on a AMC20 you better have 1 piece axles.

I'll determine what the gear ratios are after I get it in the garage. It seemed to turn the 35s pretty good but it was a short strech to the driveway with a weak Transmission so we werent pushing our luck.

I didnt think this was gonna be included in the sale but I wasnt turning it down. Heres a pic of the Ramsey winch that came mounted on the Cj. Ok its not a Warn , but hey its mine. :) I'll go over it before using it. Its functional but Id like to see all the cable out before Id trust it.

Looks like you got a good deal and it lived up to what they told you. Looks like its happy Jeeping for you and the wife :chug:

Looks like a good solid start.:) That's cool that a good winch came with it.
If the cable looks bad, don't buy one I have a new one here we can put on.

Will do. Vicki says "Well you finally have a winch , what does that mean? " I say " Well now we can go places we shouldnt " with a big smile. Vickis blank faced reply " Oh Boy ... Great". If the tape measure is right after taking those lights of the hardtop today it should just squeeze into the garage.

I went down this afternoon to remove the lights and get her in the garage. On 35 in tires this Cj sits pretty tall for a guy whos only 5'5". Anyway I got them out of the way and tucked her in the garage with about 1/2 in of clearance to boot. :D

Anyhow I get her in a comfy spot for the Transmission transplant and notice a business card under my windshield wiper. WTF? The Cj was only outside for a little over 24 hours and someones putting stuff on my windshield? Turns out it was a card from a 4x4 club welcoming me to join. I searched it and found some you tube videos of them. Looks like some mild trail rides that may just be nice for shaking down the Cj. :)

Im also looking for a descent set of 35s. :D

What's wrong with the ones on it? They look alright in the pic.

Do you know how much cable your winch holds? I just remembered that mine is a 125' cable. At least that's what should have came on the warn It
came off of.

You should have said "now you get to wade through the mud and hook it up for me so we can get unstuck":D

If the cable on the Winch is shot it would ba a good time to switch to a Synthetic Winch line.

They are a mis matched set and the rear two arent that great , maybe 30%. Im not sure how much line is on the Ramsey. I havent found a model #on it either. I think it was painted over.

I'll save that one for the first mud hole. :)

Yeah it would be. Im not grabbing anything right away. Im going over it good and making the inevitable "list".

Well I am really Happy to see that CJ7 !!!:D:D:D:D

Isn't the Winch Vicki's????;););)

I can hardly wait to see a picture of Vicki driving this thing!!!
