83 cj7 no fire will not start

Hello!! New to the Forum. REALLY need some help with my CJ7 . Got buddies coming this weekend for 4 wheeling trip on the beach. AND MINE HAS JUST DIED. Driving down road, died as if you turned key off. No backfire, noise, just died. Turns over, no fire. Checked fuel to carb. GOOD.
replaced ignition module, ignition coil and pickup coil. Checked time #1 cyc. at top with rotor @ #1 plug. Problem. Checked new coil. neg side have bright light with key off and no flashing light when cranking. I have traced wires and all appear good. All old connections were cut and crimped and soldered. still will not start. Any ideas. I am lost

Do you have 12V to ground on the red wire on the coil with the switch on?? Will the engine turn over??

yes. motor turns over fine , I have traced wires for past 2 days. cut crimper solder all connections. grounds cleaned and sanded. New ignition module removed and checked 2 times at auto supply. still no fire to distributor or plugs. I am really lost. thinking about doing nutter bypass.

thanks too all for the advice. spent last two days replacing parts, tracing and reworking connections too no results. Did the nutter bypass and Bingo. Red Riding Hood busted off. Looks clean under the hood and should make future electrical easy. Thanks again too all. Be wheeling down the National Sea Shore this weekend with my partners from the piney woods.
