I have the rubicon express 4.5 extreme duty lift in my jeep. I want to lower it to the 2.5 so it's not so scary on the highway. Do I have to completely swap out the kit for the 2.5 kit? What is the best move here?

The RE 4.5 kit comes with 2.5" wide springs all around.
You can just buy 4 new springs, with the lift you want, as long as you stay with the wide front springs. Think yj here.
You might also need new shocks.
You might need to get a different pitman arm.

If your jeep has a drop Transfer Case , I would put it back up where it belongs after you change springs.

By the way, there must be something going on if your jeep is scary to drive. I have the RE 4.5 springs on mine and can drive 60mph with no problems.

Can you post pics of the suspension, something is probably installed incorrectly by the p.o. if it's scary on the hwy
