I rescued this from the recyclers. My friend was going to have it hauled for scrap. I cleaned up a really rough YJ and XJ a few years back. I wasn't looking for a new project but I've always wanted a CJ and to my surprise, my wife suggested that I buy it and bring it back.
I'm in the investigation phase and beginning to collect the necessary parts. I scored a windshield from a member who hooked me up with this forum. So far it's been helpful and seems to have a great bunch of jeep enthusiasts involved.

Good for you I love people who save these old Jeeps I have a 84 basketcase.

Not bad piece of scrap.:D I would have taken it off his hands too!

Do you happen to know a man who goes by the name of Keith460 on various Jeep sites? He's from Doylestown also and restored an 84 Sebring red Renegade back to pristine condition. He could be a great local source of knowledge for your rebuild.

So what's wrong with it? Looks OK to me. Hell yeah, I like it. Treat yourself to a fine cigar, you scored a good candidate.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The frame is a little rusty but straight, the bumper got bent when someone backed into it in a parking lot.

I took the hard top off and cleaned it up a bit to start working on it and it looks 100% better already.

I have never met Keith460, but I have PM'd him on another Jeep site.

I have seen his super clean CJ at a couple of local auto shows. It looks nicer than what rolled off the assembly line.

At the last show which was held in the streets and every parking lot, and basically shut down the entire town, (coincidentally the night I brought my CJ home), I missed speaking to him by 10 minutes when he went to grab something to eat.
