Thanks. The decals are pretty shot on the hood so I have a set of new ones from Austin Jeeps. I am scared to attempt the job though.

I will probably get a vinyl guy to do them. Has anyone here removed the old stickers and replaced them with new ones ?

Thanks I love it. My first vehicle was an 85 CJ. It was all pieced together but a solid Jeep. I was 16 with no money to ever do anything nice like this. Now that I'm 35 and have a real job I can relive the old days :chug:

Some Interior shots pre delivery

I plan on new carpet and will keep the OEM in storage.

man thats clean :chug:

Beautiful. Everything looks perfect. Nice to see you stuck on some 31's and didnt worry about any lift kits. I like it.

Beautiful. Congrats on a sweet original CJ - man, what a find!

Good luck with the decals. I need to add one to mine but I'm afraid to start it too.

Yeah no lift. I plan on doing an OME YJ spring kit down the road. Maybe 2.5 inches. Then I will do 33's.

ive never pulled the old decals off anything i cared too much about but what ive heard works is to heat it with a hair dryer then slowly pullan edge back and keep some heat on it. ive put decals on before and its really not as hard as it seems. spray the area with sopay water so you have a little time to move the decal to exactly the right spot then let it sit for a little while before you touch it. works great for me

to remove the decals try a hi-speed pin stripe removal wheel.
you can get it at ur local parts/paint store and it won't harm your paint job as long as you keep the wheel moving.
don't let it stay in one spot, just keep moving and it eats the decal off great.
I used it to remove my Renagade decals.
just wipe the dust off and wash when done.
good luck and show us progress pics!

im jealous congrats :chug: how do the Duratracks ride are the as loud as a BFG Mud terrain?

Yeah Hoboken NJ : )

I always used BFGs and these Duratracs converted me they are quiet and ride so nice !

If you're lucky, the decals might just pull off if you take it slowly. If you don't want to apply them yourself, I would suggest finding a local sign maker. They work with auto decals all the time. Good luck.

I was thinking about the stripe kit you have ordered. Looking at the Austin Jeep site, it appears that the stripe kit they offer is made by Phoenix Graphics. I addressed some issues I had with my stripe kit here:

I would HIGHLY recommend that you make a rubbing of your stock stripes before you pull them off and take some very good close ups and measurements. You also might want to keep a small portion of the sticker to match the color if need be.

A sign maker can also reproduce those as well.
