we are replacing the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with an amc 360. The engine did not come with any of the original accessories, just block, heads, and crank. Therefore we are replacing and bolting all of the components with pictures or diagrams.

We ordered the serpentine belt system from Bull Tear, and are in the process of installing it, but can't seem to find where the York ac bracket (we ordered the bracket from JEEP air in Ocala, and will actually be using a sander compressor that attaches and adapter plate to the original mounting bracket) attaches to the block or the alternator bracket. I just don't seem to be able to find the direction it faces or the hole it bolts to.

Any help or pictures of the braces

thanks in advance

Here is a picture of the bracket from the manual, but again we are having trouble seeing where it attaches.

Should bolt into the head in two or three places and then also one bolt through the water pump. I'm just going off the top if my head, I sold my 360 and never looked back a few months ago.

I've not installed but here it is fitup.

Thank you that's exactly what I needed. I couldn't tell from the bracket but that stud sticking out from the block needed to go through the bracket, and I needed to use a shim to make up the difference.
Does anyone know what else goes on that stud ?

Deffinately not the easiest bracket to deal with. I'm fairly mechanical by nature, but when I pulled most of the front off to change the water pump, then put things back to gether the Air Compressor bracket had me completely stumped. There were bolts of different lengths, spacers, flat steel brackets here and there along with the fact that I was trying to use the wrong bolt hole in the block (use the upper one, not the one down near the alternator.... All that is moot though, you are fabicating your own which will give you the oppertunity to simplify the whold mess.
