Question?? I have a 78 CJ5 with a positive camber. Only about 3/4 or a bit more of the front tires actually contact the ground. Any suggestions for a fix? Are there tapered shims for the spindle plates out there? Does someone make offset upper or lower ball joints?
Thanks

IIRC I think napa sells adjustable ones.

We are currently going through this with my dads 79, yes there are shims you can put behind the spindle which are way cheaper and easier to install than adjustable ball joints. You can get em from napa and oreily's, they are a little cheaper at oreily's.

Did NAPA have them?

Any chance for a P/N?

Thanks

73CJ. NAPA has them and so does AutoValue, tapered spacers that is. I'm bringing it in to a friend of mine today at a local alignment shop who is going to put it on the rack and figure out the degree shims I need to order so I can flatten the tires to the road. I'll post numbers and such later. Adjustable ball joints were no where to be found (there was a type of ecentric cone that replaced the ball joint sleeve but you couldn't torque set it and I didn't like that idea - although it would be a lot easier to put in).

73CJ Sorry for the late post, got tied up in a wedding. The nerve of some people, getting married right in the middle of Jeep season!! Anyway I got them from the folks at Auto Value, they are 1.5 degree, MOOG, and the part number is MOO K974-12. They are listed as Camber adjustment shims and work great.

Dang, those are neat.

Looks like I have a new project to check out.

O'Reilys have them.

Thanks :chug:
