Having a some what there CJ5 dropped off tomorrow and planed on using a comealong and my tow chains one of which I've had since I was 16 to drag it into my garage. Went out to get them I had cleaned them this summer and put them back where I have always stored them lo and be hold they come up missing. Now I have left unlocked tote boxes full of tools in the same area for months at a time undisturbed not just any tools mind you the good stuff 1/2 and 3/4 sockets big wrenches etc and never had a problem till now the tools were moved bout 10 days ago to the garage in preparation for the job. W ho the f8&66 steals tow chains? Sorry just ranting now I have to go buy 15 20 foot of chain.Damn this sucks.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

haha cheer up it could be worse.. I had someone put my 4wheeler in the back of their truck and loaded up my other 4wheeler on my trailer and drove off and they were all chained down. but I never thought about the fact that you can buy a pair of bolt cutters for a few bucks at wall mart. everything I have left is now locked down with thick hardened steel chain. and keep in mind this happened 25min from the nearest town down a dead end dirt road on a gated hunting property. I think it was the people we had clear some trees to make a field though but who knows.

I lost a flyrod like that this summer. :(

sorry, you want it back? :D

haha I couldnt help myself. who steels a flyrod and chain? terrible thiefs.

Yes please, I had that thing for around 20 years. When I went in to buy another one i really didn't know how to shop for one LOL

Salesman: "What lenght rod do you want?"
Me: "Hell, I dont know. My old one was between 7 and 9 feet"
Salesman: "That's vague...any idea what line weight you want?"
Me: "Line weight? hth would I know, I haven't bought flyline in probably 10 years"
Me: "By the way..what is this double-tapered weight-forward mumbo jumbo $85 spool of fly line, and wth to I need it. Just get me some nightcrawlers so I can go fishing."

my wife had the jumper cables stolen out of the back of her car wtf ? I had a chrome air cleaner stolen out of the back seat of my car

HAHA well i had my tahoe broken into in my garage and took my GPS and my colone out of my center console but left my ipod on top on the center console haha wtf. The colone did smell good but damn why do you have to take something like that?

And they would recommend the $800 pole, the $400 reel $50 floating line, $25 leader....plus $100 to put it together:censored:
I ordered a $200 St. croix from cabelas a few years back and im happy with it

when I lived in AZ, my bride and I were driving truck OTR. So we were home only a couple days a month. I had a 30x60 garage with all my trucks in it, and someone broke in twice.
The first time they tried to siphon all the fuel out of the rigs (the Toyota, the 3 wheeler, and cut the fuel fill line on the bus) but left the old F-250 alone. Bad part was the Ford was the only one that had ANY fuel in it. Full tank as a matter of fact, BUT it had a locking cap...Umm, the cap key and the ignition key were in the ignition the whole time!
The second time a few months later we came home and the garage doors were wide open. My poor F-250 was across the yard and buried in the wash behind the rear gate. Called the sheriff, blah blah..
Figured out they tried to steal the Toyota (didn't run at the time), then the bus (again, out of fuel and no battery!)
They hot-wired the F-250 (I took the keys that time!) and drove it out of the garage and headed for my back gate. I wold have loved to see the look on their faces when they hit the brakes to slow down...There were NONE! I had taken the MC off to replace it before we left that trip. My HIBOY truck was buried in the sandy wash up to its winch bumper, and left for dead. I put the battery back in the tray (bungee cord broke on impact), shifted it into 4wd and drove it back to the garage!
Bad part was, all my tools, equipment, parts, everything was still in the shop. Not one thing was missing, even with the garage door open for at least 2 WEEKS!

Sorry for the long read, I have a few other stories of bad people getting Karma when messing with my stuff..

I got a good deal...89 bux for a 5wt generic and a couple 20's for a pre-spooled Pfleuger reel. One trip out was enough to send me back for some quality 3m flyline though...I swear thats the most important and overlooked component to flyfishing. No wonder so many people are turned off by it. But that's another forum :wtf:

someone several years ago stole the faceplate off my car stereo...left the stereo there.

Damn you guys got some bad luck, other than the tow chains Ive never had any thing stole. I almost always leave my door unlocked. even when I had heroin dealers living next to me and crack dealers lived next to them. Maybe I just look like I can't possibly have anything they want.

Around my neck of the woods, if you leave something out that would be something you actually have to WORK with, it is pretty much safe!

About a month ago someone stole the top of my dogs igloo but left the base. But left my chain saw and all of my other offroad and camping stuff alone that was on top of and in my non lockable cj.

We had someone steeling out of our cars and kept taking sunglasses, money, ipods and would leave things like pistols and stuff so we set up a trail camera and caught a highschooler snooping in garages and he was later arrested. his father was in the FBI

he is a good kid though he just needed to learn a lesson before he got hurt and he has a great church going family. Just goes to show that everybody makes stupid decisions but karma is a b****

A guy drilled a hole in the gas tank of one of our trucks trying to steal gas.
Electric drill + sparks + fuel = burned thief

People steal weird stuff, but ones who steal a mans fishing rod.... Well there's a special place in hell for them!

Man this must be my 15 minutes of tow chain fame, who woulda thought a rant would inspire this? Oh btw I actually build custom fly rods . Sorry can't help with dog igloo issues though.:D
