I put a 1" body lift on and the air cleaner won't fit. I notched out for the master cylinder, brake booster now the air cleaner doesn't have room. Anyone else run into this problem? What did you do? I wanted to stay with the stock air cleaner housing but I guess I can't.

Well I had the stock air cleaner on my '86 w/AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a 1" body lift, so it can be done. It was so long ago I forget how I made it work, but it was nothing to radical of a modification to get it to fit. The clean air system that you have is a lot better than those chrome jobs that provide the carb with a lot of hot air. I have since gone to f.i.

Can you post a pic? I am not quite understanding and have a 1" body lift with stock setup. It's a little off camber (high valve cover side) but tightens right down and pulls into place.

But I also had to add mine as PO stuck one of those crappy little ones on and I fabbed my own mount to top of valve cover (aluminum) so maybe I avoided that

Can you get a piece of pipe the size of the carb throat and cut it on inch long and then put a longer stud in the carb? Basically shim the air filter up.
