86 CJ7 Laredo Black
The Jeep was totally gone thru, 124k original miles on body,
New Crate engine and Trans, Weber Carb, Interior replaced back to stock, Dana 44 Rear, Dana 35 Front, 2.5 " Suspension Lift 1" body 33-12.50 Tires on Mickey Thompson Wheels, New Dupont Paint
Im going to install an AC unit in my 86 CJ7 Laredo .
The main one ive found is from collins brothers,
Has anyone used this unit before or know about it?
Do you know anywhere else to get one,

For a shop to install what would be a fair price just for install,
I am very handy instaling mods etc but this ac install just seems like I might need to take it to a pro

can anyone comment on the collins bros kit, or one any other kit for that matter, i checked vintage air bout 6 mo ago and they didnt have one for it,
has anyone had this done,
I remember my pop bought a new 85 CJ7 Renegade and we had to take it back in to get the ac installed on it, and the kits at collins bros looks like the one jeep installed in his 85 Renegade ,

The collins bros one is like 1000-1100, i figure 5-750 install just guessing so prob 1500-2000 installed
any opinions

I appreciate the link, I had only found the collins bros kit so far before this, they look very similar,

How is the Air output on the system?

I was not sure about an after market air conditioner? Keeps the inside nice and cool has a three speed fan I got the heart/air combo my heater was junk.

well my heater is great,
how much was that kit if u dont mind me asking,
I want a kit as close to the ones the Jeep dealerships put in the CJ7 's when they didnt have air and someone wanted one with Air,
My dad bought an 85 Renegade Ht,ll doors, inline 6 4 spd, silver with blu fue stripes and black top,
And they had to add AC to his as part of the deal when he bought it,
Collins bros claims to have this kit,
one thing i noticed about them is 1 it cost more but they have it for V and serpentine belts where most just have V belt systems

If you are OK with a project I have the one I removed from my 78 that is not factory but a dealer installed unit and did not blow cold air when removed but everything is there. You pay shipping it's yours.

If he doesn't take you up on this I sure will. Shipped to 28307!

Do you still have the compressor and clutch??

some one needs to take you up on that, and have it installed by a pro. that would be a terrible thing to waste.:D

I must be out of it. I always thought turning on the air in a cj ment taking the doors and the top off. :grinjeep:

i was out of town for a bit, i pmd u about the kit, just let me know the shippping price and your paypal to my pm and ill get it to you instantly

I hear ya Old Dog, 115 heat index in NC today and I felt just fine without top or doors. Best AC I know of !
