Is there another thread on the site that maybe answers my questions below?

Just did a power steering conversion and I need to know how to align my tires. I also need to know if there is a set place my drop pitman arm needs to be positioned?

Thank you in advance.

I assume your talking Toe in? Normally about 1/16-1/8"

Two views:

1) Pittman arm drag link attachment point wheels straight ahead should be with weight in Jeep about 3/4" inch forward of your tie rod on the same parallel plane. ( Point is it needs to be forward enough so there is no collision between the two as your front axle moves forward under full compression)
2) At the Drag Link attachment point on the Pittman arm , the height should be slightly higher ( about 1" ) than the point of attachment at your spindle. This allows for minimum bump steer and also for any future loss of spring ride height.

Keep in mind that these measurements had to be predetermined when the steering box was placed.

If all you did was change out the gearbox, your alignment will not change (as long as you didn't loosen any of the drag link rod ends). The pitman arm should have a flat the aligns with the flat on the gearbox. You may have to adjust the tie rod to center up the steering wheel.

CJ: I went ahead and replaced everything just so i wouldn't have to worry about it later.

That write up is just what i was looking for. Thank you.

I do have 1 last question. I got a Power Steering pump from a guy that has over 500 CJ on his property but it didn't have the bolts for it. Does anyone know what size i need to get? Below i attached 2 pictures of where the bolts are located.

Thanks everyone
