Guys I need some help....right now my alternator has an external regulator. But I would like to get an alternator with a internal regulator so can you give some guidance on how this is done and what the part number etc. etc....to get this done Thank for your help.

Sounds like you have the old style Motorcraft alternator. You can swap in a GM on wire pretty easily.
 
The question is , what is an old style Motercraft alternator doing on a "bone stock" 1980 CJ7 ???:wtf:

Personaly I like the idea of an external regulator, I'd keep it that way.
That way you only have to buy what part went bad. ;)
 
The thought comes to mind of a high output with remote regulator.:cool:
