I know Superior is no longer around, but I have Superior one piece axles in my AMC20 with a Detroit locker. I over filled the case after cleaning and changing the fluid and got leakage from the left side axle out the break drum. I over filled because I didn't notice the differential was tilted up for correct shaft connection due to the lift.

I filled about 25oz more than FSM states, waiting for it to ooze out the fill hole.... then I realized the hole was not at stock level.... Went out later and had a bigish puddle of axle fluid that leaked out the left axle.

I've read some that say its okay, just remove the excess, but I don't ant leakage when I have it sideways on the trail. So, I need new seals. Since Superior is no more, where and which seals do I order that will work with these axles?

Thanks!

So those bearings and seals will work with Superior axles? I'm in the same boat; have Superior 1 piece in two CJ's and now that they're gone and I know at least one set of mine needs bearings/seals, I've been wondering what I was going to use.

I was going to pull the old ones and take them to NAPA to find the right ones. Thanks for saving me the trouble.

After looking back at the link there are 4 different sets listed under #37....Any of them correct Timkin bearings?

Both seals are the stock seals so you can get them anywhere.
The bearing can also be gotten local but, the bearing retainer that comes with the 1 piece axles is not as wide as what the auto parts has. If you try to use the wider retainer it will hit the inner seal before the axle seats, so you have to have it shortened some. (measure the old one)
It's been awhile since I bought one but I believe it's a set 19 but I might be wrong so research it before you buy.

Can't you use the old bearing retainer plates?

Perfect, thank you!
